These computer labs will serve to reduce spaces in access to devices and the Internet by supplying public computer system access for individuals with disabilities, Marylanders without long-term house (i.e. unhoused), veterans, and our incarcerated & returning citizens. The program supplies grants of up to $65,000 for approximately 100% for the production, upgrade, and/or retrofit of computer labs/centers throughout Maryland.

The financing source for the program is the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and all federal rules required of the financing use to the program. The Maryland Office of Statewide Broadband is making up to around $11.8 million available through Connect Maryland's Network Infrastructure Grant Program Round 2.

Funding will support jobs that improve broadband transport capability, interconnection, resiliency, redundancy, and long-lasting network scalability. These jobs are planned to reinforce the efficiency, dependability, and sustainability of broadband networks serving citizens, companies, and public-interest uses throughout Maryland.
